AXENT has selected Nokia to be the provider of transmission equipment for the lighting of its fibre-optic network, with WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technology.
After an in-depth analysis of five other industry-leading providers, AXENT chose Nokia to guarantee the highest levels of network quality and service, taking into consideration the technological quality of the equipment, its reliability and the firm’s associated professional services.
Nokia is a leader in the EMEA region in the supply of WDM technology, with a market share of over 30%, and works with key European operators (Telefónica, France Telecom, BT, T-Systems, Vodafone, etc.), as well with a great deal of telco operators, Internet service providers, public authorities and corporations from different segments of the industry.
The project will allow AXENT to provide its customers with wholesale services of symmetric point-to-point capacity of up to 200 Gbps at all network levels (backbone, backhaul and access) and on its more than 4,600 km of fibre nationwide.
